the ganssers - the woodlands child & family portrait photographer

Well we definitely picked the right weekend because we ventured out to the bluebonnets the following weekend and boy do they disappear quick! It is amazing how quickly they were trampled. They looked so sad! I’m glad that we got there when we did! This was a new type of session for us this year but we really enjoyed it! Once again, we love repeat clients! We photographed these sweet girls when Miss Addi was brand new and she is now 6 months old! It is incredible how quickly this precious time flies. Enjoy your sneak peek!

This is picture is not only proof that our sessions are not flawless but also evidence of what a sweet big sister Emmi is!

And the session just wouldn’t have been the same without tutus!!

We may or may not have given her a lollipop! ;)

Emmi is showing off her dancing skills! This is one of our favorites from this session!

We love how she is just relaxing in this bench!

double the news & double the fun!

Well most of you might have heard through the grapevine by now (or Facebook) that Corey and I are expecting twins!  We couldn’t be more excited!  We feel so blessed that God has trusted us with these angels and can’t wait to meet them!  Hazel and Delilah are quite thrilled as well!  We are due August 23rd but in actuality we will get to meet them between the last week in July and the second week in August!

I anticipate that I will need to rest quite a bit this summer and because of that we will be limiting our session availability.  I have had quite a few inquiries for spring availability so I have listed available dates and times below.  Please know that these are subject to change.

We are also hoping to set up a time to head to Brenham and offer mini-session in the bluebonnets!  We will post more information on those sessions in the coming month.

If you are interested in booking a session for this spring please contact us as soon as possible with the date and time of your choice.  Also, please note that our session fee has changed as well as our other pricing.

lucenay family :: houston family portrait photographer

Corey and I took our first “vacation” this summer to Atlanta, GA and Chattanooga, TN.  Corey works in Atlanta during the week and his cousin talked him into participating in a triathlon in Chattanooga (because he doesn’t do enough)!  :)

I flew into Atlanta and we loaded up the minivan and headed to Chattanooga.  It was such a neat town with a lot of character!  There was quite a bit for kids to do and plenty of places to stop for ice cream!  We got to spend our time in Chattanooga with Corey’s cousin and his family.  We also did a family session with them while we were in town!  (see below!!)  We enjoyed a lot of yummy food and explored the town when the guys weren’t racing.  My favorite discovery was Mellow Mushroom - a pizza place.  If you know me, you know I have to try pizza everywhere I go!

The girls and I watched the boys race…in the rain!  We were real troopers and hid under a tree to try to stay dry!  Corey and I also discovered a quaint little book shop and a few shots of him in the collage below were taken there.  He was reading up on dog breeds (more on that later this week!!).

After we left Chattanooga, Corey took me to antique a bit and then we headed back to Atlanta.  I spent an entire day in the W relaxing and hiding from the outside world.  I highly recommend this every once in awhile.  Later that evening, he took me on a tour of Piedmont Park.  He spends quite a bit of time there exercising and it was a gorgeous park to explore.  He showed me his favorite tree and I even got to climb it!  We also hung out at the dog park for a while to “shop” and spotted a Siberian Husky puppy.  *tear*  We also had dinner with a few of his co-workers and ate the largest and most interesting hamburgers I’ve ever seen.  On our way back to the hotel, Corey bought me a $7 milkshake (that’s a lot!) and we enjoyed it while we caught the tail end of the Bachelorette in our hotel.

I love traveling with my love and I also love getting to see what he does all week and where he spends his time.

When the Lucenay’s asked us to do a family session while we were in Chattanooga, we were so excited!  I love to explore new places and I love how it challenges me as an artist to come up with new ideas.  This small town had so much character it was hard to narrow it down to just a few places.  In trying to define my style, I have learned that I love texture, bright colors and raw emotion.  I love urban settings and I love to capture the true personalities of my clients.  I’d love to do more session in the future in Chattanooga because that small town has a lot to offer.

This family couldn’t be more precious - we might be a little biased because they are OUR family!  There is so much love and these two little girls have the best personalities.  They are so colorful and happy!  Enjoy your sneak peek!

one of my favorites.

One of my many favorites about Corey is that he always makes me breakfast on the weekend. This past weekend I woke up to bacon, egg and cheese biscuits. his specialty is usually eggs or omelets. He has had a lot of experience watching the experts prepare his breakfast every morning at his various hotels.  I’m such a lucky woman!

3 years.

Well if you know me at all, you know that I LOVE to celebrate any possible anniversary or special date in a big way.  Today is Corey and I’s 3 year engagement anniversary.  He treated me to pizza tonight at Brother’s Pizza - my local favorite!  Here we are 3 years ago…it is crazy how times fly and how much we’ve changed since then!  I enjoyed such a special day being pampered with my best friend that day and little did I know that what Corey had in store for me!  I watched the video that he created for our engagement again tonight and in case you’ve never seen it, I included the link below.  The videos are all the way at the bottom of the page on the link I provided.  I’ve told Corey all day “thanks for ‘ngaging me!”  Love him!

PLEASE VOTE!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

There is a Texas A&M message board that Corey visits in his spare time.  The website (Texags.com) held a contest back in December to see who could take the best real photo of their logo.  He got a little creative and grew their logo in our front yard!!!  Although it got him into a lot of trouble his photo has made the finals and the winner gets a $1500 Tag Heuer watch.

I would truly appreciate it if you took 5 seconds to follow this link, scroll down, and click on “vote for cjo03“.

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone’s new year is off to a wonderful start! My NYE was very low-key because I’ve been a little sick AND Corey was working in LA for the week. Instead I spent the night taking medicine, eating ice cream, watching TV, and stalking some of my favorite blogs!

I have spent the start of my new year organizing!  I watered all my potted plants, picked up around the house, trimmed my rose bushes, and organized my magazines.  I got myself in quite the pickle today when I decided to switch all the furniture in two bedrooms by myself!  I was set on this idea and I couldn’t shake it until I followed through - sometimes this gets me into trouble!  It really paid off that I left my front door unlocked, because my besties Kat & Craig showed up unexpectedly!  Craig came to the rescue and helped me to complete my project!  Craig, you can send your bill to Corey!

I have spent the night organizing my office/craft area upstairs.  I’ll post pictures when I am finished!  I am so excited to get it all organized and start a sewing project tomorrow!

I leave you with a photograph of my NYE and one of my favorite new websites!  If you need a great gift check out Sulu-Design.  They make beautiful jewelry!  This is their blog - you can check out all of the jewelry by clicking on the etsy link on the right of the blog!  ENJOY!

Quilt Show!!

I spent yesterday with some buddies at the George R. Brown Convention Center checking out my first quilt show!  I am not an expert quilter by any means but it is definitely something that interests me.  I have helped make one baby quilt with a friend.  After yesterday I am inspired to continue pursuing this hobby.  I am teaching myself to night to embroider so I’ll keep you posted on the progress.  Here are some pics from our day-o-fun!
