Well Corey and I are officially on our yearly anniversary vacation but this year we decided to do something a little different. We are doing a “stay-cation” for several reasons but primarily to stay close to home due to the circumstances with my parents and to save money. We decided to take the dogs to the dog park this morning/early afternoon to play! We decided against running there at the last minute and boy am I glad we did! Corey threw one heck of a frisbee and right as Hazel was about to jump and get it…she ran smack into the fire hydrant. This dog is dedicated to catching a frisbee! She immediately flew back and started convulsing a bit. Her collar broke off, she was (and still is) limping pretty bad but worst of all is her poor mouth. We aren’t sure how it happened exactly but she has a hole in her outer lip (probably from her tooth) and in her gums. There was quite a bit of blood but very little crying on her part – she is one tough cookie! We are taking her to the vet later this afternoon (it was the earliest they could get us in). They said we could drop her off and they could look at her when they got a chance but with her anxiety I hated to just leave her. We read online not to give her tylenol so we just feel bad because she has to be hurting. We’re hoping our “stay-cation” doesn’t turn into more of an expense than a trip to Mexico would have!!
